Install & set up
1. From a Chrome desktop browser, open the Chrome Web Store listing and click Add to Chrome.
2. Open a new tab. Amazing Tabs replaces the default new-tab page with your dashboard. (Don't worry — your Chrome homepage and start page are untouched.)
3. You're ready. No account needed for the free plan. Hit ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) to start saving and searching tabs.
The extension is desktop Chrome only. On mobile, use the “Send install link to my email” form on the homepage to email yourself the install link.
Save tabs in one click
Click the AmazingTabs icon in your toolbar (or hit ⌘K) to save the current tab to a space. The first time you save, we create a default Inbox space — you can rename it later.
To save all the tabs in a window at once, open the toolbar popup and choose Save all tabs. To save just the active tab plus the ones next to it, hold Shift while saving.
Search like Spotlight (⌘K)
Hit ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows / Linux) anywhere in the Amazing Tabs new-tab page. Start typing — we fuzzy-match against the title, URL, space name, and any notes you added.
Search results are ranked by recency and relevance. Press ↵ to open the top hit. Hold ⌘ while pressing ↵ to open in a new tab.
Want to search from Chrome's URL bar without opening a new tab? Type at + Tab in the URL bar (this is Chrome's omnibox keyword) and your query, then ↵.
Spaces & collections
A space is a top-level folder — “Reading,” “Side projects,” “Founder reading.” Inside a space you can group cards into collections, and inside collections you can group by category.
Drag cards between spaces or collections to reorganise. Right-click on a card for more actions (move, copy URL, add note, delete).
Tip: type the name of a new space in the sidebar input and press ↵ to create it instantly.
Cloud sync across devices (Premium)
Cloud sync keeps your spaces in sync between Chrome on your laptop and any other Chrome you sign in to. To turn it on:
- Open the toolbar popup and click Sign in. A small window opens — sign in with Google or email/password.
- Once signed in, the extension shows a Sync toggle in the top right. Flip it on.
- Your data uploads to your private account in Firebase EU. We never read it, sell it, or share it.
To turn sync off at any time, flip the toggle back. Your local copy stays put; the cloud copy is preserved until you delete it from the Account page.
Import & export
Open the extension settings (gear icon top right) → Data →Export to download a JSON file with everything you've saved. The format is straightforward and documented in the file.
To restore on the same or a different machine, choose Import and pick the JSON file. We merge by space name — duplicates are deduplicated, never overwritten.
Billing & cancellation
Manage your subscription, change card, or cancel from the Account page. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for.
Receipts are emailed automatically by Stripe to the address on your account.
30-day refund. If you regret a payment within 30 days, email hello@amazingtabs.app and we will refund you. No forms, no questions.
Privacy & your data
By default, your tabs never leave your browser. Cloud sync is opt-in.
The Chrome extension is fully telemetry-free — no PostHog, no analytics, no third-party trackers. The marketing website uses PostHog for pageview analytics; you can opt out with any tracker blocker.
Full detail in our Privacy policy. To delete your account and erase your cloud-synced data, go to Account → Delete account.
Troubleshooting
The new-tab page didn't change. Check chrome://extensions — make sure Amazing Tabs is enabled, and that no other extension is also overriding the new-tab page. Chrome only honours the last one installed.
Sign-in popup won't open. Allow popups for amazingtabs.app in your browser site settings, then try again.
Cloud sync seems stuck. Sign out and back in. If it's still stuck, email us with your account email — we'll dig into the server logs.
⌘K isn't opening search. Click anywhere inside the Amazing Tabs new-tab page first to make sure it has keyboard focus, then try again.
